Artists Statement : Text

Mind. Matter. Art as a cohesive amalgam of these two entities. Often thought of as separate- but inherently equal. Duality=Unity. Art is nothing without skilled control of the medium at hand, as well as a mindful indulgence of the history, ideas, and philosophies behind the work. My work is a creative process of research, emotional exploration, and skilled mastery of the medium at hand. I aim to produce work that speaks to the viewer's inner emotions through carefully thought out content and research as well as technically strong and visually stimulating imagery, sound, and production.

With a BFA in Computer Arts from the Savannah the College of art and design I learned the important skills of time management, effective communication, and project workflow. The quarter system enabled me the experience to take on several projects at once and produce quality work on a limited time schedule. Along with my rigorous technical and computer based education, I received a rounded education in art history and more traditional arts such as photography, drawing, sculpture, metal work, and much more. The skills I have learned will enable me to dive head first into the 'real' working world with full confidence in my ability to adapt to whatever needs that come my way. I feel I am a valuable asset to add to any company as I am skilled in many areas of digital and traditional art.
